All Generations Living For GOD

Mission Statement

At God Centered Life Ministries, our passion is the Gospel, our vision is all generations living for God, and our mission is to engage culture, train churches, and reach colleges, all for Christ and his glory.

Ten Foundational Principles:

Principle #1 – The Glory of Christ

A subject as huge as the universe, and infinitely greater still. He alone is worthy of worship and praise, and in him alone is our true worth discovered. Fully God, fully human, Jesus Christ and his glory is the center, the focus, the pinnacle, the joy of all joys, the end of all ends, the one for whom we were made, and by whom we live. Soli Deo Gloria.

Principle #2 – The Authority of Scripture

The very words of God. Of greater worth than silver or gold. A lamp to our feet. A light to our path. Wiser than any human wisdom. True Manna from heaven. We live by every word that comes from the mouth of God. It shall never pass away. “This Book is the most valuable thing that this world affords. Here is wisdom; This is the royal law; These are the lively Oracles of God”

Principle #3 – The Centrality of the Gospel

All biblical vision begins and ends with a vision of God. And at the heart of this vision is God’s love for his people to redeem them through the cross for his own glory. This gospel reverberates in every page of the Bible, inspires Christian living, is the grand, great, and only hope for the world, and resonates throughout eternity as the triumph of the Lamb of God seated on the throne, scars celebrating his costly love for us.

Principle #4 – The Primacy of the Preached Word

No true preaching is possible without mastering the art of humility. A broken man only may properly occupy the prince’s throne of a pulpit, asserting not his own personality but the person of Another. All gifts subjugated to the Giver, all techniques assuaged by the plainness of direct honesty, all glory to be given to Him. A trumpet through which sounds His voice, crying in the wilderness, make straight the way for Jesus.

Principle #5 – The Empowering of the Holy Spirit

By the Spirit not by the letter. The sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. Able to make dead bones live. For new life. For bearing the fruit of the Spirit. Filled with the Spirit. God present and empowering. Convicting of sin, the Counselor, breathing out God’s Word, illuminating that Word, to guide us into his truth. The mind of Christ.

Principle #6 – The God Centered Church

God’s people gather together around God’s word for God’s glory. The template for this gathering goes back to the assembly at Mount Sinai where Moses gave the people God’s word. This gathering is now fulfilled in the gathering of God’s people around the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. In the early chapters of Acts, a specific paradigm for this God centered church is described. At its heart is the proclamation of the gospel. This gospel then motivates and mobilizes four core values for the church: fellowship, learning, outreach and worship.

Principle #7 – The Vital Place of Affections in Christian Growth

Without a sense of the overwhelming beauty, glory and attractiveness of Christ we will not surmount other ideals for his sake. Only if our hearts – thinking, feeling and willing – are affected by him will we be changed or grow gradually into his likeness. There never was, nor will there ever be, any spiritual growth in anyone that ever lived that did not have their affections moved.

Principle #8 – The Credibility of the Orthodox Christian Faith

It is not for us to say whether or not God is credible by human standards, and yet God, in his condescension and compassion, has made himself accessible to the reason of faith – a faith that is given by God, and that finds its rational conclusion in the one by whom all reason is most reasonable.

Principle #9 – The Possibility of Creative Cultural Engagement without Compromise

Human cultures are both necessarily fallen and yet also tarnished reflections of the image of God invested in the humans whose tastes and talents shape those cultures. To engage with contemporary (as well as historic) culture does not imply compromise, nor lack thereof, but the almost inevitable reality of the Christ life being both in this world and not of it. Shaped by Christ we engage culture for Christ – citizens of another country all the while.

Principle #10— The Importance of Loving God with the Mind

Christ calls us to love God with more than our mind, but with our mind included too. There are those who are tempted to love God with little else other than their mind – and avoid his call upon their body, their time, their emotions, and their treasures – but some think it is inconceivable that the religious realm is susceptible to mindful engagement. Yet God, not bound by any arbitrary sphere consigned to the merely religious, lays claim to all of life, the universe, and everything, as its rightful master, and is found to be winsomely and supremely above our minds but not contrary to the mind of Christ that is in us.

Statement of Faith:

WE BELIEVE that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are given by inspiration of God, are without error in the original writings and are the only infallible rule of faith and practice. 2 Tim. 3:16,17; 1 Th. 2:13; 2 Pet. 1:19-21

WE BELIEVE in one God—the Creator and Ruler of the universe, existing in a divine and incomprehensible Trinity—the Father; the Son, Jesus Christ; and the Holy Spirit—each possessing divine perfection. 2 Cor. 13:14; Mt. 28:19; Jn. 14:26, 15:26; 1 Pet. 1:2

WE BELIEVE that our first parents were created holy and upright, that they fell from this condition, and that in consequence the whole human race is by nature dead in trespasses and sins. Rom. 5:12; Gen. 1:27, 28, 31; Eccl. 7:29; Eph. 2:1-5

WE BELIEVE in the Incarnation, death, and bodily resurrection of the Son of God; and that salvation is attained only through repentance and faith in Him. Jn. 1:1-14; 1 Cor. 15:3,4; Acts 4:10-12

WE BELIEVE in the necessity of a radical change of heart and that this is effected through the truth by the agency of the Holy Spirit. Jn. 3:3, 1 Pet. 1:23; Ti. 3:5

WE BELIEVE that Christians are called with a holy calling to walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Because they have become new creations in Christ Jesus and are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, yet during their earthly pilgrimage never delivered from the flesh with its fallen nature, they must be in constant subjection to Christ and His commandments by the power of the Holy Spirit. 2 Cor. 5:17; Gal. 5:22,23; Jn. 15:10

WE BELIEVE that only those should be admitted to membership in the visible church who have experienced a change of heart. Jn. 3:5; 1 Cor. 5:6

WE BELIEVE that the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are of perpetual obligation in the church. Mt. 28:19; 1 Cor. 11:24-26; Ex. 31:16,17, with Mt. 5:17,18

WE BELIEVE in the resurrection of the dead and future judgments from which the righteous go away into everlasting life and the wicked into everlasting punishment. Dan. 12:2; Mt. 25:31-46; Rev. 20:11-15; 21:26,27

WE BELIEVE in the personal bodily return of Christ in power and great glory as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, and in Christ’s ultimate and complete triumph and the establishment of “new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.” 2 Peter 3:10-13; Acts 1:11; Rev. 19:16, 21:1-7
